Piscina Municipal

Camino a la ruta de la Virgen de Lourdes se encuentra esta piscina natural. Funciona en los meses estivales, y sus aguas son abastecidas por el río Perquenco, que además otorga frescura y belleza al paisaje. Posee sitios de camping y juegos para niños.

 

Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Dolores

Lugar de oración y encuentro religioso. El año 1890 aproximadamente, llegó a la localidad el primer Cura Párroco Don Rogelio Valdés, no habiendo Iglesia, por lo que los acto litúrgicos se celebraban en la casa habitación de Don Moisés Pantoja, remediándose esta situación definitivamente en el año 1927, fecha en que se fundó el Santuario de San Sebastián, celebrándose desde entonces en la localidad, esta festividad religiosa los días 20 de Enero y 20 de Marzo de cada año. El 30 de julio de 1952, un incendio destruyó los edificios Públicos de la municipalidad, Cuartel de Carabineros, Parroquia y Biblioteca Municipal. El 23 de Agosto del mismo año se llamó a propuesta para la construcción de los edificios siniestrados. Las obras fueron autorizadas por el municipio el 15 de octubre del mismo año, por lo que en el mes de marzo de 1953, se inauguraron las nuevas obras.

 

Molino Eyssautier

Plaza de Armas.

Antiguo molino de agua, que data de 1932. La creación del Molino hidráulico de la firma F. Smith y Cía. influyó positivamente en las actividades comerciales de la comuna, sus propietarios construyeron un canal que nacía en el río Quillem, recorría 14 kilómetros entre predios rurales y llegaba al poblado, de esta forma se abasteció de agua a la población, además generó luz eléctrica para la plaza y algunas viviendas. Se constituyó a la vez en una de las primeras fuentes de trabajo para alrededor de 30 personas y el primer Centro Comprador de Trigo.

Perquenco

 

Piscina Municipal

 

This natural swimming pool is located on the route to “La Virgen de Lourdes”. Its water is supplied by the Perquenco River, which also contributes a coolness and beauty to the landscape. It is open during the summertime and has campsites and a playground for children.

 

Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Dolores

 

This is a place for praying and religious meeting. In approximately 1890, the first parish priest, Mr. Rogelio Valdés, arrived in town. Since there weren’t any churches there, the liturgical acts used to be made in the house of Mr. Moisés Pantoja. This problem was remedied in 1927, when the San Sebastián Sanctuary was founded. Since then, every year, on January 20th and on March 20th, people celebrate the San Sebastián festivity. Unfortunately, on July 30th 1952, the town council buildings, the police station, the parish and the public library were reduced to ashes by a fire, but the very same year, on August 23rd, it was proposed that the buildings should be rebuilt. The town council approved the proposal on October 15th, so on March 1953 the new buildings were inaugurated.

 

Molino Eyssautier

 

This is an old waterwheel from approximately 1932. The foundation of this waterwheel, belonging to the F. Smith y Cía. Company, had a positive influence on the activities of the town. Its owners built a canal that rose from the Quillém River and covered 14 km of land and went all the way to the town, thus supplying the population with water and providing artificial light for the square and some houses. At the same time, it became one of the first sources of work in town, providing work opportunities for about 30 people. Moreover, it was established as the first “Wheat Buyer Center”.
